Frequently Asked Anger Management Questions with the all important answers

  1. Does anger management work? Where somebody admits they have an anger issue and they want to do something about it then we have a 94.3% success rate. Individual results will vary, call us for more information.
  2. What is it like in an anger management group? Led by a fully trained facilitator, our groups are relaxed and welcoming. There is no embarrassing role play and you only have to share what feels comfortable. Most people settle in to the group in the first hour or so.
  3. Can I work one to one with someone? We do provide one to one anger management support in 4 and 6 session packages.
  4. Do you provide a certificate or letter? We provide a letter of completion and a certificate on the day for all participants who successfully complete the course. For one to one support, we will provide the same at the end of the sessional package.
  5. What is the ETU System that you use? The ETU system is the unique anger management system developed by Martin Hogg at Citizen Coaching CIC.
  6. How are you different to other anger management providers? There are lots of different ways of tackling anger. Some people prefer courses based on books and academic lectures based on Powerpoint. These can be helpful for some people. Our courses are the only ones based on practical anger management techniques that you can get started with straight away. No books, no bother and no role-play.
  7. What qualifications do the tutors and coaches have? To be an AngerUK approved course tutor you have to have completed a counselling qualification, have 2000 hours of post qualifying counselling hours and have completed our own extensive training.
  8. What does it cost to have anger management? The course is £97, the anger one to one sessions are £45 a session.
  9. What can be achieved in a one day course? The one day course (equivalent to the 4-6 week one to one sessions) covers the entire anger programme, including all the practical tools and methods we use.
  10. How many sessions of anger management are needed before I see a difference? In as little as one session you will discover useful tips and techniques.
  11. What options are there for free anger management? We don’t provide a free anger management service but your doctor may be able to refer you to a counsellor in your area.
  12. I am not sure whether I need anger management, how do I know? If you lose your temper regularly, find yourself hitting objects, other people or throwing things then it might be worth taking a look at your anger. Most people with anger problems tackle them too late in their lives. Many have lost a lot in their lives before they try and tackle their anger.
  13. Do you have a programme I can use in my school or community group? We are currently developing a programme for community settings. Watch this space or send us a message to be the first to know
  14. I noticed you are a Social Enterprise, what does that mean? All of our income goes into the Social Enterprise, Citizen Coaching CIC. The profits are used to run programmes in our community rather than being distributed to shareholders.
  15. What do I need to do if I want to book and pay for someone else to come on to the one day Anger Management course? Please call us in the office on 0121 314 7075 between 8am and 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm Friday and we can help you with that.
