Anger UK and Citizen Anger Management, Part of Citizen Coaching CIC, a not for personal profit social enterprise, have a limited number of license opportunities in 2014 for counsellors to help us deliver Citizen Anger Management across the UK.
We have been running a successful Anger Management business since 2005 and want to expand by working with a select number of qualified professionals across the UK to meet the current and future demand for our one to one anger management interventions. We set up the business to help people access cost effective, practical anger management.
Citizen Anger Management is based on our effective, practical approach that has helped hundreds of people live a life less angry.
We’re looking for counsellors across the UK that are interested in delivering our licensed programme, Citizen Anger Management, working one to one with adults and/or young people.
Anger is a very common issue, a lot of people are looking for help
Boiling Point, a report produced by the Mental Health Foundation (2008) and based on a sample of almost 200 people all over the country, states that more than 1 in 4 people worry about how angry they sometimes feel. 1 in 3 people say they have a close friend or family member who has difficulty controlling their anger and 1 in 5 say they have ended a relationship or friendship because of how the other person behaved when they were angry.
We are offering much more than two-days of professional development in anger management
Citizen Anger Management is a structured 6 week programme that helps clients with anger management issues. Clients gain support by working with a licensed professional over six fifty minute sessions. Counsellors typically charge £240 for the six sessions.
Clients gain extra support using the Citizen Anger Management workbook, online resources and a DVD- available at £20 per pack. Clients are happy to pay for the resources, particularly when they see that they cost £47 to purchase separately online.
What are the options for me as a Counsellor?
As a counsellor you can either;
Option One: Come on one of our two-day courses ‘Citizen Anger Management’ as part of your professional development. Receive a certificate.
Option Two: Following your successful completion of the two-day Citizen Anger Management course, work with us to deliver Citizen Anger Management in your area with one to one clients. We can list you on our website, refer any local clients to you and help you with marketing to promote your service (It’s not as complicated as it might first sound!). This option is open to qualified counsellors who are members of a recognised professional body and have regular supervision.
